Haverfordwest County 5 - 0 Caerau Ely
As the score line suggests our introduction into the newly formed Cymru South League was challenging. A tough ask for any newly promoted team to travel away on first day to one of the title favourites. It was evident that both clubs were at different periods of their journeys.
The game was dominated by the home side and they were ruthless in attack. We had our strongest periods in the game on either side of half time where we had good chances to get back into the game but ultimately, not taking those chances cost us.
It was a steep learning curve for us, with several players unavailable for the encounter we were able to introduce 5 youth team players to the side. All making their debuts which is encouraging for the future.
We are aware that this game game wont define our season but we will use the experience to learn from and improve.
Hopefully we will see you at our next game at Cwrt Yr Ala next Saturday as we host Afan Lido.
