Heartbreak for Caerau with late Trundle strike

Under the friday night lights at Ammanford last friday the YoungGuns again put in a gutsy performance and were unlucky not to at least get a point on the road.

On interview Isaac Berry quoted

Thank you to all those who attended from both our point of view and Ammanford. It was great to have nearly 400 people there who set a great environment for both teams to play football.
In terms of the first half we built into it really well. We created some chances and defended well. Towards the end of the half we then gave away a penalty which Elliott saved well. Other than the penalty there was little else to talk about.
We went in at half time and managed to regroup well before regaining some structure for the second half.
We then started the second half really well and came out the blocks. It was great to see James Dixon score his first goal for the club after a lengthy time sidelined. We got through the next 10 minutes really well before having Lloyd sent off. For the next 20 minutes we defended really well then conceding a goal on 80 minutes. With injuries in the team at the end of the game we had four 17 year olds playing on the pitch who I could not praise highly enough. We then went on to experience heart break in the 96th minute.
Myself and Samo have experienced tough times before us as staff and players are working so hard behind the scenes to turn this around. We thank those who drove all the way to Amanford to support us. That support will be key this Saturday at home to Swansea University.

Saturday we see ourselves against fellow promoted side from last years Welsh League 2 Swansea University at Cwrt-Yr-Ala, kick off 14:30pm. Entry £5 Adult, Concession £3 and U16's free. We hope to see you there.
