Preparations for the new season has been really promising and enjoyable, once again all the group have committed fully to a robust pre-season schedule. Our success last season gained us the opportunity to represent the club in the newly formed JD Cymru South, this has really installed a positive vibe at the club and has given us extra motivation to be better.
The competition has seriously gone up a level, something I have made the group fully aware off, it’s now up to us to improve further and see what we can achieve. Looking at the league the old cliché of there are ‘no easy games’ I’m sure will be the case this season, this is our challenge and one that excites us.
With the good environment we have created within the group, we have retained the majority of last year’s squad. All committing early to be part of the new season, we identified areas which we wanted to improve and have targeted our recruitment on that basis. We have added Isaac Berry to the backroom staff and already in his short time he has added significant value to us and I’m sure there is more to come. Also with the signings of Lloyd Toghill, Callum Smith, David Burnett & James Dixon I firmly believe these will add to us both on and off the pitch. We have also integrated 6/7 lads from our successful Youth Team into the first team environment, the involvement of these lads had given us further energy, enthusiasm & quality. Giving a platform to the younger players is something both myself and the club are fully committed too and I’m personally really excited to see how these players can perform on this stage.
As a group we have set aims and expectations but our focus is on the enablers that support achieving those aims. We are realistic and are fully aware about some of the challenges we face next season but we are really excited by the opportunity this league presents and we have full belief in what we are about.
Looking forward to another roller-coaster of a season.
