YoungGuns Battle Under The Lights On A Rainy Night In The Rhondda

Tuesday night saw the YoungGuns hit the road again under the floodlights of the MP Group Wales 3G against Cambrian & Clydach. Rain had set in for the evening with the YoungGuns setting up looking for a snatch and grab to ruin Cambrians 100% record.

Both sides provided chances throughout the first half with Lloyd Toghill driving a low shot right o the keeper and hitting the post with David Lyon unable to put the rebound in the back of the net. Caerau can feel aggrieved by some decisions given by the officials on the night especially club captain Huw Corne receiving a Yellow card for a clear challenge taking the ball in the first half.

With the second half underway both teams looked to open the game up with Caerau pressing forward, Cambrian countered which resulted in Huw Corne putting in a challenge and received his marching orders for a second bookable offence. With the extra man advantage Cambrian played the ball through the channels which opened the YoungGuns up with goals for Cambrian coming from Corey Shepherd, Leon Jackson and Sam Johnson. Cambrian's Carn Thomas received a straight red for a two footed challenge late in the game but the at that point the game was out of Caerau's reach with the final whistle and the game finishing Cambrian & Clydach 3 - 0 Caerau Ely.

Full Time interview with First Team Coach Isaac Berry

Many thanks to all who attended our game against Cambrian. It was fantastic to see a stadium so full on a very wet and rainy Tuesday evening.
The first half’s action consisted of both teams having chances with us hitting the post. Cambrian became increasingly frustrated with how we set up during the first half. It was a real testament to the lads for there work like performance to get in at half time 0-0. The second half’s action was one that really swung Cambrian’s way. Caerau having a man sent off after 15 mins Cambrian then went into score 3 fast goals before also having a player sent off. As staff we felt that the group done well. Small errors in the game cost us which over time we feel will be ironed out.
Both myself and the boss are seeing the signs that the lads are pushing themselves to the limits. With the transfer window now shut we can look to really kick in with our current squad. This weekend we face Llanelli. It’s a 12 o’clock kick off and we want to create a true Caerau atmosphere please get down and support the lads.
